With city living comes a fast pace and noisy life both physically and mentally. A room in the middle of the city ought to be a sanctuary, a space to move away from the normality of life and into a place that is calm and centered. White walls, minimal furniture and select display items allow the user to feel a sense of peacefulness. In this minimalist interior strict starkness is set aside to give way to a warmth provided by the materiality of the space and a connection to the large elm, linden, cedar, and walnut trees that envelope and shelter the room from the outside in.
